The Competition: At its core, the Compengine is a head to head video competition for action sports in which the community picks the winner. Behind the scenes , the Compengine picks matches based on skill level. In General, the competition has four rounds with the first two rounds lasting a week, an LCQ round, and the Final Round finishing when a winner is picked. Users will be notified by email when contests begin. Good luck!
1st Round
- In the 1st round, the Compengine runs cycles matching competitors based on skill level.
- As the round progresses, competitors are matched against others with a similar skill level.
- At the end of the 1st round, the top 50 % advance to the 2nd round.
2nd Round
- In the 2nd round, again, the Compengine runs cycles matching competitors based on skill level.
- As the round progresses, competitors are matched against others with a similar skill level.
- At the end of the 2nd round the top 50 % advances to the final round.
Final Round
- The final round is a modified knockout Round in which competitors are eliminated if they lose THREE times.
- Again, the competition engine matches based on skill level BUT this time competitors are matched against their opposites in terms of skill level.
- At the end of a contest, competitors are ranked based on their performance during the final round.
LCQ Round
- Before the final round begins, the last chance qualifier round (LCQ) Round runs.
- The LCQ round is composed of competitors who did not make the cut in the 1st and 2nd round.
- The LCQ round is tough, it’s a pure knockout round in which a competitor is eliminated if they lose once.
- Here, like in the final round, the competition engine matches competitors based on opposite in terms of skill levels.
- Competitors in the top 25 % will qualify for the Final Round.
Ranking System: Competitors are ranked each time their video is on the leader board at the end of the final round, Currently the top 25.
